Blue Striped Sperry's with Leather!

When mom saw these shoes she said it made her think of the Bible verse, " ...by His stripes we are healed!" I was thinking about that, and looking closer at the leather on the heel and the shoe strings reminded me how He got the stripes! He took a massive beating just for you and me!

Matthew 5:8 says "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God."

I heard a message a couple weeks ago at our church and this was the speakers main scripture. The Children's Pastor was the speaker that week. He said, "I'm going to preach simple today!"

He talked about when we can see Jesus, we keep our focus on Him and not on our problems or struggles. He talked about we should see Jesus in our everyday lives, but sometimes we get distracted.

He used a simple illustration as well. He talked about how sometimes we allow stuff to cloud our hearts, and when that happens we can't see clearly. He had clear plastic cups with clear liquid in them and then added different food colorings to change it. One color represented fear, one anger, one envy, and one sadness.

We are all human and we will have days that one or all these things will try and overtake us! Looking at Facebook and watching the news can bring All of these to the forefront!!

In this whole process I am in, I have had to definitely learn to keep my eyes focused on Jesus! I have had to learn to keep my mind fixed on the Word of the Lord and His promises! Do I have bad days, yes I sure do! Somedays, the what if's try to take over. Fear thrives in the what if's!

So everyday is a new day. Every day is an opportunity to see Jesus. He will speak to us in all kinds of different ways. Sometimes it may be through a person, sometimes thru a song, sometimes it may be laughter or a smile. Sometimes it may be a scripture, or that still small voice. Sometimes it may be through a pair of shoes! The stripes and leather on my shoes today are speaking loudly! Those are reminders to me of Gods word that I am healed!

We are all on a journey. Our journey's are all different but we All need Jesus to be by our side! I am so thankful that I have Him on this journey that started last August! He is giving me peace and I know I can trust Him.

I love you guys and I am thankful for every prayer sent up for me! 😘

Treatment Day in Nashville!

Happy Shoes of the Day!

This morning when we were walking to the breakfast area at the hotel we passed several athletic bags that obviously belonged to hockey players. The bags were huge and each had five or six hockey sticks attached. Of course we were hoping to see Carrie Underwood's hubby, who plays for the Pred's! Lol

Well we did not see him, but there were several young men getting their breakfast dressed in shorts and t-shirts. My first thought was, wow these guys are so skinny for hockey players! They did not have all the padding and uniform on to make them look big! The padding they wear under those uniforms really makes a difference in how big they look!! That's why they are so confident slamming into each other and the walls!!

Keith, the guy with the inquiring mind, decided to ask one of them what was up. These were collegiate players that were in town for a Nashville Predator's Camp. It's a weeklong camp and the guy said the schedule was long and grueling every day !

So that explains the youthful look of most of them and they All had their own teeth!!

So a bunch of aspiring hockey players were my inspiration today! It brought to mind the scripture about putting on the full armor of the Lord!

Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. (Ephesians 6:11 NASB)

When we put on the full armor of the Lord we can be confident too! We can be confident that no matter what we face, we have His word to back us up!! We have His promises to stand on! God's word is tried and true..

Every word of God is tested; He is a shield to those who take refuge in Him. (Proverbs 30:5 NASB)

I am claiming God's word over my life every day! And He is watching over His word...

Then the LORD said to me, "You have seen well, for I am watching over My word to perform it." (Jeremiah 1:12 NASB)

I love you all and thank you for praying and believing with me!!!

Happy Shoes of the Day - Tropical Print Sperry's

Happy Shoes of The Day...

Tropical Print Sperry's

Perfect for a hot summer day! Happy Shoes make everything better!

I had to have an Echocardiogram first thing this morning. As I was waiting for the technician to come back , I'm looking around this sterile room...this machine, the hospital setting, and thinking about where I was.

I would much rather be somewhere else...a tropical setting would be great. Ocean breezes, waves crashing, sand between my toes, get the picture?!

It's easy to get uneasy, if you let your thoughts run away with you! I was reminded of 2 Corinthians 10:5.

"We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ,"

I have had way more good days than bad days in this process! But some days I have had to work a little harder to take the thoughts captive! I constantly remind myself of God's promises to me through His word. I know He is in control and my hope is in Him!

I saw a quote on FaceBook today from Mr. Roger's. I loved watching Mr. Roger's neighborhood! I even wrote a speech in a college class about him and his sweater and tennis shoes! It goes like this, "When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, "Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping." That made me think of Psalm 121:1-2

"I will lift up my eyes to the mountains; From where shall my help come? My help comes from the Lord, who made Heaven and Earth."

We were thrown into a crazy process last August, but I know where my help comes from! I am leaning on the Lord every day and He is providing peace and strength! He made Heaven and Earth! He can take care of me!!

Man, I bet Mr. Roger's would have loved Tropical Print Sperry's!

Thank you for praying for me!! Love and hugs to you all!

Treatment Day, White Shoes

When I chose my shoes (white) I was reminded about the Holy Spirit coming in the form of a dove...

John 1:32-34 John testified saying, "I have seen the Spirit descending as a dove out of heaven, and He remained upon Him. "I did not recognize Him, but He who sent me to baptize in water said to me, 'He upon whom you see the Spirit descending and remaining upon Him, this is the One who baptizes in the Holy Spirit.' "I myself have seen, and have testified that this is the Son of God."

I was inspired this week by Candace Payne, the Chewbacca Mom, when I watched a video about her encounter with the Holy Spirit. I really did not think the Holy Spirit was for me either way back when. But you what...the Holy Spirit is a gift, and it was for me. I received the gift of tongues at home praying with my mom.

I have another friend that was not sure it was for her either. She read Benny Hinn's book "Good Morning Holy Spirit". After reading the book she said she was sitting on her bed and simply said, God if you want me to have the Holy Spirit then give it to me. She said she began to speak in other tongues and knew that it was for her. It is a gift, we just have to receive it!

Romans 8:26 says, " Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered."

In other words, when we don't know what to pray the Holy Spirit prays for us! I am thankful for the gift of the Holy Spirit! This journey I am on is one that I would not have chosen for myself! At the same time I have such great peace and know that I am not alone! Even in the quiet of the night when crazy thoughts are thrown at me or in the middle of the day, the Holy Spirit is empowering me to persevere and trust in God! I can't give this gift to you but you can pray and ask God to reveal what He has for you!

I love you all and I am so thankful for your continued prayers and faith!
