Happy Shoes of the Day - BLACK SPERRY'S

As I was thinking of my inspiration for today's post and these mostly black shoes, my eyes were drawn to white dots and the whites soles! Amongst all the black canvas those white dots are like rays of hope, they are glory dots, they are punches of light in the darkness! Jesus is our light!

John 1:5 (NLT) says, "The light shines in the darkness and the darkness can never extinguish it."

No matter how dark our situation, no matter what prognosis you have been given, no matter how hopeless the situation may seem, the darkness cannot extinguish the light!

No matter what darkness is trying to surround you...it may be sickness, financial distress, a job you hate, a wayward son or daughter, troubles in your marriage, addiction, depression, anxiety...if you can just catch a glimpse of the Light!!

Those white soles remind me of walking on clouds...the big puffy pretty ones with a background of blue skies! The ones that make you smile when you look at the sky on a beautiful sunny day!

It has been almost one year since I had this crazy diagnosis. August 28, 2015 was the day I visited my oncologist in Chattanooga and he shared the news. That was a crazy and scary day! We walked out of the exam room to the check out area, but I knew we had to go back in that room and pray! I told Dr. Sutton that we had to pray for wisdom and direction for us, for the doctors, for everyone involved. Keith prayed a beautiful prayer as we all held hands. When we finished praying, Dr. Sutton remarked that he had never had that happen before but he liked it! He went on to tell me he and his church would be praying for me. Every time I see him he still reminds me that he has my prayer card hanging in his office and he reads it several times a day. He took us to his office last week and showed us where he has it hanging on the wall! I'm including a picture in this post. It is the blue card you see hanging on the wall. Thank God for doctors who believe in the power of prayer!!

God answered those prayers that day, He has given us and the doctors wisdom and knowledge for my situation! He gave us peace about which option to take and we have great peace that we are right where He wants us! We continue to stand on His Word!

Psalm 119:50 (NASB) "This is my comfort in my affliction, That Your Word has revived me."

Deuteronomy 30:14 (NASB) "But the word is very near you, in your mouth and in your heart, that you may observe it. Choose Life."

John 15:3 (NASB) "You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you."

Psalms 18:30 (NASB) "As for God, His way is blameless; The Word of the Lord is tried; He is a shield to all who take refuge in Him."

I had to go see Dr. Sutton about a week ago. When he came in he said, "are you breathing pretty good?" And I said yes! He went on to say, "I'll be honest, I did not think I would see you walking backing into my office a year later, but that's a good thing! The treatment is working." And he said, "of course the prayers!"

I am giving God all the praise because He has kept me and I AM still here! God's Word is alive and it is alive in me!!!

Daniel 2:22 says, "It is He who reveals the profound and hidden things; He knows what is in the darkness, And the light dwells with Him."

God knows all about our dark times. He is right there with us! He uses those times to let us experience peace that passes all understanding! He uses those times to make us realize how strong we are in Him! He uses those times to reveal Himself to us in a very personal way.

So today, wherever you are at...look for the light. It may be just a glimmer of light...but keep your eyes on the light...it's there!!! Keep punching through the darkness and continue to read Gods word and hide it in your heart!

Joshua 23:14 (NASB) "Now behold, today I am going the way of all the earth, and you know in all your hearts and in all your souls that not one word of all the good words which the Lord your God spoke concerning you has failed; all have been fulfilled for you, no not one of them has failed."

Thank you for praying and believing with me! I love you all and I am so thankful for the faith surrounding me!!
